AI candidate screening with Workday, and where an agency tool fits
Workday owns HiredScore, so the first question is not which tool is better. It is whether you are the employer running Workday or the agency supplying into one.
Workday customers get AI candidate grading and ranking through HiredScore, which Workday owns and which does not run conversations with candidates. Sapia.ai adds a chat-based AI interview with an explainable score. Alert Hire is for the recruitment agency screening its own applicant flow before candidates ever reach a client’s Workday.
If you run Workday yourself, start with HiredScore
This is the honest answer and it disqualifies some readers on purpose. If Workday is your own applicant tracking system, start with HiredScore AI for Recruiting. Workday owns it, it is built into the platform, and no third-party tool can integrate as tightly as a first-party one. Its page describes AI-driven candidate grading, surfacing relevant candidates from your existing database, and guiding hiring managers where they already work.
Alert Hire is for the other party in that relationship: the recruitment agency supplying candidates into a Workday client. An agency screens its own applicant flow, against its own criteria, long before anyone is submitted. That is a different job from prioritising an in-house pipeline, and it is the job Alert Hire does.
One thing worth knowing about HiredScore either way. Its page describes candidate grading, ranking and talent discovery, and points at a separate product for candidate conversations. If you expected one tool to both score the application and talk to the applicant, check that before you buy.
| Tool | Who it is for | How it screens | What it is priced on |
|---|---|---|---|
| HiredScore AI for Recruiting | Employers running Workday | AI candidate grading and ranking, plus surfacing likely candidates from the existing database. No candidate conversation described | Not published |
| Sapia.ai | Employers, high volume | Chat-based AI interview with a scoring engine that explains its reasoning | Not published |
| Alert Hire (ours) | Recruitment agencies supplying into Workday clients | Grades every CV against criteria you wrote, then screens above-threshold candidates by SMS, WhatsApp or email | Flat monthly fee per agency, plus completed conversations |
The honest part
Where each one wins
Including the ones that beat us. A comparison that concludes we win every row is not a comparison.
HiredScore
First-party and inside the platform. Nothing to integrate, one vendor, and its matching draws on Workday data no third party can reach. Its page cites over a decade of talent AI and availability in more than 150 countries. If you run Workday, this is the default and Alert Hire is not competing for it.
Sapia.ai
A structured chat interview with an explainable score, aimed at high volume hiring, with published attention to fairness. If you need an assessment you can defend to a regulator or a works council, that is the shape of the thing.
Alert Hire
Built for the agency side rather than the employer side. Criteria written per role by the recruiter who owns it, every score justified against the CV, and nobody rejected by software. If you are supplying into a Workday client rather than running Workday, this is the one aimed at you.
Questions
The general list is on the home page. Anything else: admin@alertai.com.au.
Yes. HiredScore AI for Recruiting is Workday’s own, following its acquisition of HiredScore. Its page describes AI-driven candidate grading, surfacing likely candidates from your existing database, and guiding hiring managers in tools such as Microsoft Teams.
Not according to its own product page, which describes grading, prioritisation and talent discovery and points at a separate Workday product for candidate experience. If a screening conversation is what you need, confirm that with Workday directly.
If you are the employer running Workday, HiredScore is the natural starting point. If you are an agency screening your own applicants before submitting them to a client who runs Workday, HiredScore is not sold to you and Alert Hire is built for exactly that.
Yes, through the Workday API, alongside Bullhorn and JobAdder. It writes back only what you switch on, and every write-back starts off.
